Electricity 1

Grade 10

Course Description:

The student will be introduced to the electrical industry, including and orientation to the electrical trade, electrical safety issues, proper use of hand tools, terminations, which include pigtail and tee splices in basic circuitry.  This course is the first in a sequence of three, which the student must take to enter the electrical field.  It is recommended for all students who wish to prepare for further study at the post secondary level and/or pursue a career in the electrical field.  It is a prerequisite for Electricity II and Electricity III.  It is a full year course presented daily in a three period block.  Explore, English 9, or permission of the Career & Technical Education Director is a prerequisite.  Algebra 1 is strongly recommended.
