Goals and Objectives/Planned Improvements for
2007-2008
- Continue to align existing curricula with the
strands and standards in the Frameworks leading to a
Certificate of Occupational Proficiency.
- Based on current data, begin to plan for the
possible expansion of existing Career and Technical
Education programs.
- Continue to provide professional development
opportunities, which further ensure that staff will
be able to employ current research-based best
practices in pedagogy.
- Continue to develop hybrid high-tech
occupational courses such as Home Technology
Integrator Plus (HTI+).
- Continue with the restructuring of the Business
and Information Technology departments to reflect
current industry needs.
- Continue to develop the Aerospace Maintenance
Academy in partnership with Westover Air Force
Reserve Base.
- Continue the Explore 2000 project while shifting
the focus from ELA to mathematics.
- Continue to develop partnerships that help to
develop and drive programs.
- Continue with equipment updates that support the
curricula and the alignment with national
certifications and standards.
- Continue to use High Schools That Work benchmark
indicators as a planning tool.
- Continue to promote college preparatory
standards of academic achievement and technical and
employability skills needed to produce work of the
highest quality.
- Continue to develop an accountability-based
system of high quality secondary education that
prepares students for a specific career,
post-secondary education and lifelong learning.
- Continue to create and update course syllabi for
all Career and Technical Education offerings.

- Continue to align curricula with the strands and

- Continue to develop additional courses leading
to nationally recognized certifications such as IC³
in Business Information Technology
- Continue to develop additional courses such as
IC³ that can lead to earning college credits
- Continue to develop the Aerospace Maintenance
Academy in partnership with Westover Air Force
Reserve Base.
- Continue the Explore 2000 project shifting the
