Course
Description:
This
course will instruct
students in the safe and proper use of combination
shielded metal and gas tungsten arc welding machines, gas
metal arc welding machines, and oxy-fuel and plasma cutting
machines. The course will also instruct students in the safe
and proper use of the power-squaring shear, the ironworker,
which is used for punching holes, cutting angle iron and
notching steel, and scroll making machinery along with other
related power tools and pneumatic tools. This course is
recommended for all students who wish to pursue further
instruction at the post secondary level or enter the career
field. It is a yearlong course presented in a 3 period
block. Basic mathematics skills, Explore, English 9,
or permission of the Career & Technical Education Director are
prerequisites.
